We were founded by Jack Harned in 1974. In October 1982, after a period of significant growth, Jack Harned sold the company to United Transport, a division of BET PLC, a British conglomerate.
In 1993, John Harned, Jack’s son, reacquired the company from United Transport. Under the leadership of John, the Winter Haven, FL-based company has grown and prospered to become one of the industry’s largest and most respected food-grade carriers operating approximately 600 tractors and 1,200 trailers. The primary products transported are fruit juices and dairy products

TIP food-grade tankers are un-baffled stainless-steel cylinders securely mounted horizontally to a trailer chassis. These specialist tankers allow the safe transportation of liquid foodstuffs. The most common cargo for good-grade tankers is milk. Yet, they also transport edible oils, wine, fruit juices or eggs.
Food grade tanks range in size from 3,000 to 11,600 gallons, but food grade tankers must remain below the Department of Transportation's 80,000 pound limit. Additionally, some food grade tanks may be designated to specifically carry organic or kosher products.
There are many types of cargo tanks in use. The most common cargo tanks are MC306 for liquids and MC331 for gases.
The biggest difference between hauling hazardous chemicals and food grade tankers are: You have to deal with dangerous chemicals instead of harmless foods. You're going to get more scrutiny from the DOT because of the Hazardous chemicals you're hauling. You have to be more careful about your routing choices.
Liquid bulk cargo refers to goods transported in liquid forms, such as oil, chemicals, and liquefied gasses. Liquid bulk cargo is usually stored in specialized tanks and transported in specialized ships known as tankers.
Un-baffled tanks are usually those that transport food products (milk, for example). (Sanitation regulations forbid the use of baffles because of the difficulty in cleaning the inside of the tank.)
