Our History:

Founded in 1974 on a foundation of driver-focused principles and guided by a family-focused mindset, owner Jack Harned led the company into a period of significant success. In 1982, Harned made the decision to sell Indian River to United Transport, a division of BET PLC, a British conglomerate.

Indian River was reacquired by Harned’s son, John Harned, Jr., in 1993 and once again, business boomed. Under the leadership of John Harned, Jr., the Florida-based company has grown and prospered, developing into one of the industry’s largest and most respected food grade carriers.

Indian River Transport Co. is the premier liquid bulk food grade tank carrier.

Our fleet of 600 tractors & 1,200 trailers provides transportation services throughout the United States while also offering import/export services between the US, Canada, and Mexico.
